I am ( or wasn't) one for going to the same place on two consecutive holidays. This has been my fifth visit in a row !
When I took my partner who has travelled the world, she too was hooked and we have just introduced her son, daughter, son-in law and grandchildren. All want to go back.
Hisaronu has it all and convenienc to some of the most spectacular mountain scenery, historical locations and loveley beaches. Because it is approx. 1000ft above sea level, the air is fresh and clean.
Large number of excellent restaurants.
Friendly unobtrusive Police on regular patrol making it a safe and virtually trouble free environment.

Hisaronou and Ovacik run into one another. It is typical of Turkey in that the areas that are built upon are generally well maintained and clean but the areas that arent are left over-grown. The pavements and roads are a bit hit and miss. Overall though it is my opinion that the area is magical. It is unbelievable that a little hill village has developed into a lively, friendly town with lots of places to stay, eat and drink and is only a short distance to the beach by dolmus. The drinks were slightly cheaper in Hisaronou than Olu Deniz, but Olu Deniz is a beautiful bay and shouldnt be missed.
The whole area has a laid-back feel, but there are lots of activities to do in the area such as boat trips, jeep safaries, quad safaries etc., microlight and paragliding as well as visiting historical sites, it is easy to see why people return year after year.

A lively, vibrant, purpose built resort.
The locals are very friendly and like to lure you into "bartering banter" but are not so overpowering that you feel harassed. This is a place where you feel safe to walk alone day or night.
Hisaronu is a place where people return....

Hisaranou is an ideal holiday destination for all ages. It is great as a base to explore the beaches of Olu Deniz and Calis and the pretty harbour town of Fethiye. Public Transport is frequent and cheap and the locals are very friendly and helpful. Although Hisaranou has expanded over the years, there are strict building regulations which protect areas of outstanding natural beauty from property developers. Buildings can also be no taller than 3 floors high which will ensure Hisaranou never becomes another marmaris or Bodrum. The town has lots to offer (a funfair being a new addition off the main street) for those seeking a family holiday to those wanting to sunbathe all day and party all night.
