Perhaps the single most important aspect of your advert. The adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" couldn't be more appropriate for holiday home advertising.
Many potential customers will make up their minds based solely on the images you display.
It is the first impression potential customers will get of your property. It is vital that your pictures do your rental justice, here are some simple rules to follow when taking your photos and uploading them to our site...
Add plenty of pictures to your listing. ApartmentsTurkey.org allows you to upload twenty-four images. The first 3 images will be shown at the top of your listing details page so make sure they show your property at its best.
When adding photos to your advert include a description of the picture. Make the description appealing. For example, instead of putting just 'Kitchen' use the description 'Fully equipped modern fitted kitchen', instead of 'Balcony' have 'Relax and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony' and so on.
Take your pictures on a bright sunny day, blue skies are always more appealing than overcast, grey days. It is no coincidence that the sun is always shining in holiday brochures!
When taking internal shots open doors and windows to let in as much light as possible.
Take quality pictures. When taking pictures try and stand with the sun behind you, this will reduce glare and result in higher quality images.
Have a good mix of pictures. Ideally you want to have both internal and external shots.
You don't have to take pictures of everything. If your bathroom is small and has no outstanding features then don't include a photo of it, instead concentrate on other areas where your rental excels.
Take plenty of pictures! With digital cameras you can now take as many pictures as you want, keep snapping until you get the perfect shot, your picture will likely be used in your advert for years so it's worth getting it right.
Does your property have any unique features that would appeal to customers? Perhaps a rooftop terrace with sea views, if so then make sure they can see it in your picture gallery.
Dress your property. Make sure the table is set for dinner perhaps with a bottle of wine, make sure beds are made neatly. Ensure there are no belongings left round, you don't want pictures of the balcony with towels out to dry for example.
Create a nice mood. For example when taking photos of the bedroom turn the bedside lamps on for a warm effect. Experiment with lighting on and off and select the photos that look best. Often the quality of images can be harder to determine on small camera displays so wait until you've copied them on to your computer before making decisions about which pictures to keep and which to delete.
Never have people in your holiday home when taking photos! The potential customer should be able to imagine themselves in the property and not see someone else in it.
Clean and tidy. Ensure your property is clean, tidy and looking its best before you take your pictures.
Local area. Include pictures of the local area, beaches, tourist attractions and so on.
